We ask you to bring your cheque book and write a cheque for £500 for apartments or £600 for chalets. We return this to you at the end of t your holiday after we have checked your accommodation. If you do not have a cheque book or you forget to bring it we ask for the money in cash in €, or we hold a piece of identity such as driving licience until we have checked your accommodation at the end of your stay.

You have a choice, either bring your own ( no sleeping bags,) all accommodations have duvets, or you can order them for delivery when you book. If ordering bedlinen and towels you automatically also get bathmats, and teatowels.

Will I have to pay any local taxes?
No, these are all included in the cost of your accommodation.

Will the property be stocked with basic food supplies?
Some basic consumable items are likely to be present in the property when you arrive. Tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, cleaning materials and loo roll are all likely to be present. There may also be other non-perishable items like a few herbs and spices. You can order a basic food box for when you arrive when you make your booking.

Where will I buy supplies?
You can buy all supplies in Vallouise, but there are bigger supermarkets within a 15 min drive. Remember the shops here are not open on Sunday afternoons, and close for several hours at lunchtime!

What about dogs and other pets?
If a property accepts dogs it is indicated on the property details page. There is an additional charge of €50 per animal. We need to know how many dogs you want to bring and we will need to ask owners first. Pets are not allowed on furniture or in bedrooms. Please always keep pets under control. Regrettably, those that chase livestock risk being shot by farmers and even where we describe a garden as enclosed, it does not mean your dog cannot escape from it.

Can we change the names of the people in our party after we have booked our holiday?
Yes, but the number of people we state the property ‘sleeps’ is the maximum permitted to stay in it or use its facilities. That doesn’t mean you can’t invite a few friends for a meal. However, it very much means they can’t stay the night (only those named on your booking confirmation can do that), or camp nearby and come round every day and you can’t throw a party involving extra people at the property without making special arrangements with the owner. In any case, we must always know who will be at the property and when.

What if we’re not happy?
If you find anything wrong, tell us or the caretaker AT ONCE. We will be anxious to put it right. Mention problems that are spoiling your holiday and action can be taken to put things right.

Do we need to clean the property before we leave?
We advise you book our cleaning service when you make your booking. Apartments €50, Chalets €80. Hoever you have the choice to clean the accommodation yourself, all cleaning products provided. If you decide to clean yourself then the accommodation must be left exactly as you found it, including ovens, fridges, floors, leaving beds neat and tidy, marks on windows etc. otherwise we will still have to deduct the money from your security deposit.

What is the check-out procedure from the property?
Checkout is by 10am on day of departure. We will personally come to say goodbye to you, check your accommodation, and return your security deposit. If leaving very early, tell us on arrival.

Is there anything else we should know or be prepared for?
Never forget you are in the mountains. The weather can change rapidly from a warm sunny day to a blizzard even in the middle of Summer. Bring layered clothing, sunhat and warm hat, and sunscreen - winter or Summer.
